The girl DJ of the moment and GTA power player secures a huge win for Canadian Culture
Zellers was looking for someone to bring a strong sense of nostalgia and excitement to their now infamous relaunch on March 23. The Canadian retail icon's Burlington location inside Hudson's Bay was where one could find Rose of England, an Electronic Music Producer, DJ & Visual Artist with a history of placements that includes OVO's Roy Woods & icons like Wiz Khalifa, Source Magazine, NEAKO & Apt 200 mixing it up across 5 decades on the wheels of steel.
ROE was on deck that rainy morning to mash-up a sprawling discography that included the Bee Gees, George Michael, Faith Evans, Pet Shop Boys, 50 Cent, Barenaked Ladies, Teenage Head, Britney Spears, Alanis Morissette, Beastie Boys, Tupac, Cher, Ace of Base & of course, Shania Twain. Courtesy of the British-Pakistani export from Bradford, UK (her hometown outside of Hamilton, ON where she currently resides) the enthusiastic crowd curiously got busy in the isles wasting no time in picking up modern yet minimal 2023 Zellers gear for their home & life.
On the heels of her blistering new Single "I Can" she continued her win-streak by curating the DATAXSTUDIO Zellers Playlist that can easily be called a modern-day bible of nostalgia biblio-discography that has an extensive retail range going smoothly from the 70s all the way to the 2000s on full throttle without a hitch.
The likeable DJ has a strong history of music journalism. From reviewing Canadian legend Sonreal's foundational work for The Source Magazine to giving Toronto's JMAK his first breakthourgh interview that familiarized the city with his influential work.
